Audi A6 oil leak – dealer quoted 8k, any cheaper alternative?
So my 2017 A6 2.0 TFSI has been leaving small oil spots on the garage floor for a couple months now and I finally took it to the dealer in Mussafah who told me the upper timing cover gasket is leaking along with the valve cover and they want nearly 8000 AED for the whole job which just seems insane for a car that's not even worth that much anymore. I started looking around online and found some detailed feedback on 800sayara.com/audi-repair-abu-dhabi from a few guys who had similar issues with their Q5s and A4s and apparently paid less than half what the dealer charges for the exact same repair. Has anyone here actually used an independent shop for Audi timing cover leaks or turbo issues? I'm not trying to cheap out on something critical but 8k feels like robbery when the parts themselves are maybe 1500. Just worried about getting a shop that doesn't have the right camshaft locking tools or that'll round off bolts on the valve cover. Would love to hear real experiences before I commit either way.
