Road Cycling Tour from Tbilisi to Baku
Road cycling tour from Tbilisi to Baku every years gets more and more popular, it is old Silk Road where we are going to ride.
The tour starts from old Tbilisi and it's gets end in old Baku.
During the cycling time we are going to cross many old villages and many different regions of Georgia and Azerbaijan.
We did cycling last year with many groups who come from Europe.
This is a fantastic tour who likes to ride on road bikes and discover two different old Countries Georgia and Azerbaijan which countries keeps lot of old histories and traditions.
Below is short tour itinerary what we are going to discover during the cycling time and how many kilometres we are going to ride per day.

Road cycling tour Tbilisi - Baku 8 days
Day 1. – Meeting in Tbilisi international airport, transfer in hotel in Tbilisi. We are going in our bike garage to take our road bikes and we are going to ride around Lisi Lake to check that everything is fine and we are ready to ride tomorrow from Tbilisi to Baku.
After we are going for city sightseeing tour, we are going to visit old part of town where is many historical monuments and streets.
Also we have time to visit old capital city Mtskheta which is just 20 km far away from center town, we are going to visit V century Jvari monastery and Stvetickhoveli castle.
In the evening time we are going in Georgian restaurant where we are going to taste delicate Georgian food and wine and to listen Georgian folk songs and watch Georgian folk dances.
Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 2. – In the early morning we are going to ride from Tbilisi to Sioni, we are going to visit Sioni lake where we have chance to go for swimming.
On the way we are going by very beautiful Tskhvarichamia pass which is going in beautiful Sabaduri forest.
After Sioni we are going to continue riding till Tianeti where we are going to overnight in local clean guest house.
Total riding distance is 90 km and altitude gain is around 1100 meter.

Day 3. – In the morning we are going to ride from Tianeti to Telavi, most of road is going under the forest and we are riding under Caucasus Mountains range.
After 60 km riding we are in very old city Telavi. Telavi is wine country and after riding we have time to walk around and visit sightseeing parts of old town. We have time to seat on city tower and have a dinner with beautiful views and taste local food and wine.
Total riding distance is around 65 km and altitude gain is around 700 meters.

Day 4. – In the morning we are going to ride from Telavi to Lagodekhi, we are going to cross many beautiful wineries and old villages, in village Gremi we are going to visit Gremi castle which was built in V century, in Kvareli we are going to visit Ilia lake which is in very beautiful place, after we going in Kvareli to have a lunch.
After 85 km riding we finish riding in Lagodekhi. The town is at the border of Azerbaidjan where we are going to ride tomorrow.
We are going to overnight in local clean guest house in Lagodekhi. In evening time we have time to visit Lagodekhi National park and we can see visitor center and get information about local Flora and Fauna, what kind of animals lives there in Caucasus mountains.
Total riding distance is 85km and altitude gain is around 700 meters

Day 5 – In the morning we are going to ride from Lagodekhi to Sheki, we have beautiful road in front, we going to ride throw beautiful forest and landscapes.
We are going to ride 105 km and altitude gain is around 800 meters.
We are going to overnight in hotel in Sheki.

Day 6 – In the morning we are going to ride from Sheki to Gebele, we are going under Caucasus Mountains range, we are going to cross many old villages and on the way we have lunch where we are going to taste local food.
After 90 km riding we are going in Resort Gebele where from is very beautiful mountains views.
Overnight in Gebele in hotel.

Day 7 – In the morning we are going to ride from Gebele to Shamakhi, on the way we are going to visit local Mosque, then we are riding straight to small city Shamakhi where we are going to overnight in hotel.
Total riding distance is around 95 km and altitude gain is around 600 meters.

Day 8 – In the morning we are going to ride from SHamakhi to Baku, we are going to ride most on descent there are sand White Mountains which looks like desert. Before we enter in Baku 20 km earlier our car will pick up us.
After cycling we have time to walk around old town and visit national park and old streets and monuments.
Total riding distance is around 90 km and altitude gain is around 200 meters.
Our cycling tour gets over in Baku, we are going to overnight in hotel in Baku.
Next day we are coming back to Tbilisi and you have flights from Baku to home.
